Opportunity: In creating Good Girls Bachelorette Getaways, we found that bridesmaids were usually looking for fun, while the bride was almost always distracted by the details surrounding her upcoming wedding. Could we create a newsworthy program aimed at the needs of brides - while promising fun for bridesmaids?

Solution: This was our opportunity to create another specialized version of our existing Girlfriends/Bachelorette Getaway that was focused on the bride. Wellness-based itineraries (created by Canyon Ranch SpaClub), provided a positive experience for brides, while destination-specific itineraries ensured everybody else had fun.

The Bachelorette party comes at a crucial time during the planning process. In doing research, for instance, we found a study that followed the diet patterns of 272 engaged women, and found that more than 70 percent of these brides were trying to lose on average 20+ pounds in a six month timeframe. The study also found that 20 percent of the women used "extreme" methods of losing weight, to include skipping meals, going on liquid diets, and even taking laxatives or making themselves sick.
As wedding bells count down for the stressed bride-to-be, Boot Camp for Brides experiences were designed to fit within the weekend of festivities, including:
Fit for a Bride: A 90-minute consultation that gave the bride an opportunity to develop a personal plan that includes fat-burning cardio and strength-training regiments to target areas of the body so that bride or bridesmaid can fit into her special gown.
Bridal Meditation: A 60-minute class that taught the bride how to meditate wedding stress away at any point during the wedding planning process, whether she was on her way to a dress fitting or getting ready to walk down the aisle.
Nutritional Engagement: A 60-minute consultation that focused on a custom nutrition plan best suited for the bride (or bridesmaids) by identifying proper eating tips to expedite a healthy transition from engagement day to wedding day.
With experiences such as these, administered by the staff of the Canyon Ranch SpaClub Fitness Center located at Gaylord Palms Resort, the bachelorette party became a source of positive stress release. Additional experiences such as private skin consultations and in-suite fitness classes left a bride feeling buff, beautiful and confident that she is on a healthier path.

To promote the package, we took great visuals of the bride in her dress at the pool meditating, and on an exercise cycle... and had a new irresistible story to tell.
