Issue/Solution: Deep Dive Breakaways

Issue: The "great recession" was affecting businesses throughout Florida. This caused most meetings to "soften" in terms of the average percentage of room block "pick up." This gave an opportunity to book smaller meetings within and around existing bookings.

Solution: Take the advice of economists, packaged in a newsworthy program.

In doing research, we learned that economists were preaching that businesses needed to "meet more" as they move quicker in the down economy. This was the optimal opportunity for small groups to get away from the office and brainstorm or plan. Unfortunately, the media were not eager to share this "meet more" message. This gave us the opportunity to create a newsworthy program.

In 2009, we created Deep Dive Breakaways, a program that provides "turn key" programs for small groups looking to quickly assemble to brainstorm. We launched a dedicated website, a sales effort, and special packages. Most importantly, we now had a topical PR story to tell. We needed that message out in the market, but it was near impossible to tell the story without a fresh approach. Deep Dive Breakaways gave us that luxury.
